Alan Ritchson: ‘I Get Criticized a Lot by Christians’
During his latest publicity tour, Ritchson discussed how some people take issue with his acting roles that feature violence and sex. “People have this weird relationship with fictional characters and sort of equate that to the real human being,” he told GQ.

“I get criticized a lot by Christians who are like, ‘How dare you have an unmarried sex scene on TV and then talk about Jesus?’” Ritchson said. “I’m sorry. I doubt that’s going to be part of the conversation when I’m standing at the pearly gates.”
For 19 years, Ritchson has been married to wife Catherine, whom he met in ballet class while pursing a musical theater degree. The couple’s three boys don’t think their famous dad is “cool,” Ritchson admitted to Stephen Colbert.
Ritchson has been open about his diagnosis of bipolar disorder, a suicide attempt, and his use of psychedelic drugs, which he calls “wildly healing.”
“Reacher,” Season 3, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
