For his Feb. 24 devotional, Jemison revealed that he has lots of size-17 shoes that are perfectly molded to his feet. “See, my toes be throwing up gang signs,” he said, crunching up his fingers. “So I got these custom insoles that make my feet sit right.”

When a teammate asked to borrow a pair of his shoes, Jemison had to turn him down. Even if the other player had been a size 17, the fit wouldn’t have been right.
“God was reminding me, ‘Can’t nobody do Trey like Trey do Trey,’” said the athlete. “‘I made you and your story exactly for you. I’m the Master Writer, Trey…The way you are made is the way I created you to be made. You’ll succeed by doing that.’”
Jemison warned against making comparisons with other people or trying to fit in with someone else’s story. Instead, he encouraged viewers to focus on being who God made them to be. “God is so good at…being a Master Writer and making everything work out for your glory,” said Jemison. “So…get your mind outta other people’s business.”
