“Fantastic!” another person wrote about the “classic Smitty sound,” adding, “Also, Roumie on the drums was a treat, he needs to do that more often.”
Another fan chimed in: “Great song!! And Jesus on drums!!! Can’t go wrong with that!!” Someone else noted, “Drums played by ‘The Son.’”
In “Arms Around the Sun,” Smith sings about several instances from Scripture where God makes his presence known to humans. Lyrics include references to Jacob wrestling with God and receiving a new name, God speaking through a whisper to Elijah, and God being “the fourth man in the fire” when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace.
“I can’t help but try and figure you out,” the chorus proclaims. “I’m caught up in this wonder of who you are.” Smith sings, “I believe you are a love that never ends / But trying to get my head around you / Is like trying to wrap my arms / My arms around the sun.”
