Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton: Team Chapel Services Are Key
Team chapel services are crucial to his faith journey, Tyrese Haliburton said. He recently told Sports Spectrum those services have been “a big part of my success and, honestly, my sanity.” In addition to providing peace, God’s Word helps him remember “the bigger picture” beyond basketball.
“That 15 to 20 minutes I get every day to step aside and talk about what really matters—which is my Lord and Savior—I think it’s very important for me,” Haliburton said of chapel. Those also have created a sense of “community within our locker room.”

Haliburton, whose X bio proclaims “To Him be the glory forever,” said he also attends church on Sundays “every chance I can.” Although he wasn’t in church often as a child, he said his family “understood God’s place in our lives.”
In a 2023 interview, John Haliburton described son Tyrese as “humble and very blessed.” John added, “We give God the praise and the glory. Tyrese is nothing without the mercy of God. He knows how to handle it. He knows where he comes from.”
