“He was a breath of fresh air in a world that desperately needed more authenticity,” said Blaze News host Jill Savage.

Internet personality Jason Howerton was “lucky” to spend time with Robertson as they shot a video together. “It was hilarious,” said Howerton. On a more serious note, Howerton recalled some “phenomenal advice” Robertson gave when Howerton was expecting his first child.

“Let your son see you love his mother,” said Robertson. Howerton explained, “He didn’t break eye contact for an uncomfortable amount of time to really make sure I understood.”

“He loved Jesus & he was utterly fearless,” said U.S. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. “One of my fondest memories was duck hunting with Phil—he was the best shot I ever met.”

Author Eric Metaxas said, “I cannot adequately say how much I respected and loved this great man of God. He was the real deal, and I feel deeply honored and privileged to have known him. God bless his wonderful family. We know where he is. Praise the Lord.”

Phil Robertson’s Family Honor Their Patriarch As They Grieve

Many remember and speak of Robertson’s love for his family—whether around the dinner table or engaging in the family business empire, “Duck Dynasty.”

Robertson met his daughter, Phyllis, in 2020. She was from a previous relationship, before Robertson began following Christ. Phyllis posted a few of her favorite photos of her dad and said, “These are just a small glimpse of the countless moments we hold dear. We’re truly moved by the overwhelming love and prayers shared by so many whose lives were impacted by Dad.”

“We wish we had more time, but we have overwhelming joy knowing he has met Jesus face to face,” she added.

Korie Robertson, Robertson’s daughter-in-law who is married to Willie, said, “He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’”

Robertson’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, referenced 2 Corinthians 5:17 as she posted, “As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse…he has already experienced this on earth—going from dead to alive by the power of Christ!”

Huff continued, “It was his testimony that changed his life, our family’s life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”
