“You see me on King of Hearts tour coming up [and] I will be shaking in my boots,” he said. “I’m afraid every single time, but God’s with you. He’s for you. Let’s see a revival sweep across this nation. It’s gonna take every single one of us.”
“I’m honored. Thank you fans. Thank you for everyone who voted, who shows up to a show, who plays the music, who shares it,” Lake said. “I love you. Thank you and thank you, Jesus.”
Brandon Lake Wins Four Awards
Lake won all four categories he was nominated for: Song of the Year, Worship song of the year, Artist of the year, and Male artist of the year.
“I think you’re lying if you say you don’t want to win one,” Lake told media backstage.
“I certainly did. I know that we’re storing up treasures in heaven. You know, this is a piece of of fake gold,” Lake said, “but yet, at the same time, it really does mean so much, because it means what you’re doing, and the efforts and the blood, sweat, and tears equate to something. And that is the most important thing.”
That important thing, Lake explained, “is lives changed. It’s not just entertainment. We’re creating encounters for people.” Lake said that he hoped to win one of the awards he was nominated for, but he didn’t expect to win all four.
“I’m just really proud of our entire industry, and I’m really proud of every artist and the hard work that they’re putting in,” he said. “And I’m honored to rub shoulders with them and super thankful to be recognized, but I think every single person in that room and more is deserving of that trophy.”
