In a statement on Friday, Gateway Church said:
We have consistently and publicly said that there were elders and employees at Gateway who knew about this issue before it became public—and either didn’t take action or didn’t inquire further. That was fundamentally wrong—the church elders took action, and none of those individuals are a part of Gateway Church today.
While legal and financial turmoil continues, Gateway Church elders have sought to install new leaders to right the ship. Last week, the church announced that Virginia megachurch Pastor Daniel Floyd will be taking over as senior pastor of Gateway Church.Â

Floyd and his wife said they will transition from their current church to Gateway over the summer and plan to be fully moved from Virginia to Texas by the time their children need to be enrolled in school this fall.
