Mary Rice Hopkins Wants To Keep Sharing God’s Love
What’s been “hardest emotionally” about this medical challenge, wrote Mary Rice Hopkins, is having to cancel concerts, vacations, camps, and family celebrations. “I’ll be homebound for a while, needing to avoid crowds and anyone who’s sick while my immune system is compromised,” she shared. “And being apart from my grandkids? That may be the hardest of all.”
But Hopkins expressed gratitude that both of her adult children had relocated to Southern California before her illness. “Truly a miracle I never expected,” she wrote. “God knew I’d [need] them near.” Hopkins has been married to husband Gary for more than 40 years.
In addition to prayers, Hopkins said people can support her nonprofit ministry by subscribing to and sharing her website and YouTube channel. “Just before my diagnosis, we were preparing to launch a refreshed version…filled with new animations and songs,” she explained. Ministry partner Darcie Maze will continue posting new material.
“It’s never been about money,” Hopkins wrote about her music ministry. “It’s always been about sharing hope, joy, and God’s love.”

The singer-songwriter concluded, “Most of all, please keep praying. Your prayers mean more to me than I can ever express.”
