The Regalados Await Judgment on Civil Case
In addition to the 40 felony charges, the Regalados continue to await judgment on the civil charges from 2024. A bench trial was held in May 2025.
Colorado Securities Commissioner Tung Chan sought “a permanent injunction, a freeze on the [Regalados’] assets, and $3.4 million in restitution.”
“We allege that Mr. Regalado took advantage of the trust and faith of his own Christian community and that he peddled outlandish promises of wealth to them when he sold them essentially worthless cryptocurrencies,” Chan’s office said in January 2024.
The Denver Gazette referenced a video posted by Regalado in July 2024 in which he claimed his own innocence and verbally attacked Commissioner Chan.
“You are a liar, liar, liar. I hope you get back in the office after your holiday and you see this and you see what you’ve done,” Regalado said of Chan. “Shame on you. You’re a crook.”
