Pastor Joe Rigney, a fellow of theology at Wilson’s New Saint Andrews College, wrote about the Wilson interview, “The good news is that when Christian Nationalism happens, CNN won’t even have to change its acronym.”
Marissa Franks Burt, author of “The Myth of Good Christian Parenting,” urged CNN to “dig deeper” into Wilson’s teaching, which “has toxic, dehumanizing fruit that has destroyed families.” Burt added that people should pay attention to Wilson’s “same old destructive stuff,” noting that “what’s new” is public support from officials such as Hegseth.
At the end of the interview, Wilson said he’s working to achieve a worldwide Christian theocracy “by peaceful means, by sharing the gospel.” With a global population of 8 billion people, he added, “There’s a lot of work yet to do. I believe that we are working our little corner of the vineyard, [but] it’s not anywhere close to being done. It’s barely, barely started.”
