Team President: Player’s Recovery Is ‘Almost a Miracle’

Across social media, people applauded the display of faith by Morice Norris, his teammates, and the Falcons. The image of players gathering to pray left a powerful impact, many agreed. Prayers for Norris also spread across social media.

Shortly after Norris was injured, the Family Research Council posted a photo to Facebook of players praying. “Faith in action is a beautiful sight,” read the caption.

On Monday, Detroit team president Rod Wood admitted that the injury was “one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen”—and was probably “even more frightening” for people on the field. About the outcome, Wood said, it’s “almost a miracle.”

The incident called to mind the medical emergency that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin experienced in January 2023. Hamlin, who’s also an outspoken Christian, recently shared that he previewed an upcoming documentary about himself and “cried 90 times.” The Bills player added, “Can’t wait for the world to see this thing!! Made so much progress in 2.5 years that it was humbling to relive some of the craziest moments of my life.”
