Dalrymple previously served as executive director of the ECAP.
“We live in a broken world in which sexual abuse is a scourge on our society—including in ministry,” Dalrymple said in the announcement for the new hotline. “We aim to prevent sexual abuse from occurring in the first place, but when it does occur, we will use our resources to respond in a healing manner following the teachings of Jesus Christ.”
“Calls will be triaged to determine what assistance would be most helpful to the caller,” said Dalrymple. “This could mean guiding a caller through legal reporting requirements, seeking a referral for survivor care, and/or providing support for a ministry leader navigating an allegation or incident of abuse.”
The hotline operated by Guidepost Solutions will remain active through at least the end of 2025, according to Baptist Press. The new “helpline” is live now and is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
The hotline can be contacted by calling 1-833-611-HELP or by visiting https://sbcabuseprevention.com/helpline.
