Third, the Naked Preacher was clear in his gospel presentation. He communicated that Jesus was Lord. He shared how the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus forgave, restored, and reconciled us to God and to each other. We become new creations in Christ, in a new family, with a new mission.
Fourth, Steve was cross-cultural. The Naked Preacher was Black, but he shared the gospel with everyone on the team—white, Black, Asian—it didn’t matter! He reminded me of the Jewish “men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus” (Acts 11:20).
Finally, Steve was compassionate. Whenever my teammates had problems, they were at the Naked Preacher’s locker receiving counsel and wisdom. He was compassionate and patient with the worst of sinners. How do I know? Because he was compassionate and patient with me. Today, I call upon the name of Jesus because a Naked Preacher made evangelism great again. I hope you and I will also.
