Several members of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee (EC) are upset that an EC “spokesperson” published an official committee statement Thursday, Sept. 30, without consulting them. 

The SBC's Executive Committee has been deadlocked about whether to waive attorney-client privilege ahead of a third-party independent investigation, a debate attorney and survivor advocate Rachael Denhollander says is common for “institutions in crisis.”

Ronnie Floyd, head of the SBC Executive Committee, has not committed to waiving the committee's attorney-client privilege in its contacts with Guidepost.
