Expository Preaching

If you're engaged in expository preaching, chances are you've had to teach on a passage you don't fully understand.

Fellow preachers, if we explain the text meaning in our sermons, we do well. Our people will benefit. But that’s not enough.

I want the Lord to set the agenda and not myself or anyone else. I believe going through books at a time will do this.

Ravi Zacharias and Francis Chan believe that if church leaders are going to help the next generation build a genuine faith, it’s crucial they prioritize expository preaching. At the same time, it is just as essential for leaders to communicate truth in love and with compassion.

Genesis is a long book with a number of dodgy characters and difficult chapters. But that's one of the reasons I encourage pastors to preach through this book.

Expository preaching is not preaching verse-by-verse through books of the Bible.
