In a post-game interview, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr says "self-glory" is fleeting and that glorifying God is all that matters in life.

While our ultimate desire is to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” we all also want to hear our children say, “Well done, good and faithful father” or “Well done, good and faithful mom.”

It was true then and it’s true now. To be redeemed is to walk in the honey-filled streets of the love of God, the body of Christ, a calling in life, deep spiritual friendships, and so much more. Redemption guides us to the overflow of the unmerited blessings of God.

For over a year, I have been unable to shake this thought. I am called to His eternal glory in Christ. What could this mean in our daily lives?

We were saved by his life. We will enter heaven because of the nail-pierced hands and feet of Jesus. We will remain safe in heaven for all eternity because of the sufferings of the Savior.
