If a guy is really being a leader in the home, doesn’t that mean he should be the one expecting or even demanding his own way?

There's a piece of advice I'd like to tell any young Christian husband. Preachers and teachers on marriage often warn young moms about being moms first and wives second. But with the benefit of hindsight, I now wish I had been more empathetic.

Biblical submission for wives, far from diminishing their worth, is an invitation for them to reflect Jesus in how they submit to their husband's leadership.
