The Lausanne movement, since its inception in 1974, has been about world evangelization. However, evangelization understood as one mode of mission, was not to be separated from social action.

By coordinating our efforts and making room for focused collaboration, the global church can truly live out its calling as one unified body in mission to the world.

During his closing remarks at the fourth Lausanne Congress, Michael Oh urged us not to be like the "flies" who can only see and remain in the filth, but rather like "bees" who see beauty rather than what is broken. 

Evangelism is the proclamation of this powerful message in all its fullness and with all its implications. Apart from gospel proclamation there is no gospel transformation.

The idea of depending on an AI for the strategy of the church's evangelism and discipleship is unsettling. Using AI for data and summarizing is one thing; strategic direction is another.

It is difficult to describe the breathtaking beauty of a Lausanne gathering with 5,200 people gathered in a single room with delegates from nearly every country on earth worshipping in joy and harmony.

As the Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization came to an end, we celebrated the Lord’s supper as a global church of over 5,000 delegates from 200+ countries.

As I reflect on the Lausanne Congress 2024 in Seoul, I feel like experienced a forestate of the new heavens and new earth.
