After an unprecedented swarm of tornadoes caused widespread devastation Friday, residents of areas hit hard by the tornado damage gathered Sunday to worship God, offer encouragement, and help meet needs.

"The church has always been in the business of saving people, and I’m so glad we did,” Rev. Hoffman of East End Nashville told reporters. The church lost its bell tower and recently-renovated stained glass window.

“God is not only a master builder; he really is a master of rebuilding,” says Pastor Phillip Dunn, whose church was significantly damaged in the recent Tennessee tornadoes.

Forty preschoolers and 10 staff members were in Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky, when a tornado struck, causing major damage to the building. The staff helped the children to stay calm by having them sing “Jesus Loves Me.” Remarkably, no one was hurt.
