Reasons To Step Down From Ministry (cont.)

4. When it’s no longer a calling.

You might enjoy what you’re doing and who you’re serving. But maybe God places on your heart a different calling. This means embracing the new direction and taking steps to hand over leadership to someone else. This can be emotional, because you feel obligated to fulfill a commitment. Yet this new path excites you.

Before you feel that need to step away from ministry, make sure you consistently delegate responsibility to future leaders. This is a practice in replacing yourself as a leader. You never want to build a program or ministry on your own shoulders. So surround yourself with people who can step in when you need to step down.
