As his “Reconstruction” tour is coming to a close, Grammy Award-winning Christian rap artist Lecrae told his fans this is his “last tour.”
The 46-year-old rapper has seven stops left on his final world tour that started in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Sept. 4 and ends in Brisbane, Australia, on Dec. 13.
“Every night on tour, I looked out and saw faces that reminded me why I ever picked up a mic in the first place,” Lecrae posted on social media. “Your stories, your struggles, your hope, it’s been an honor to share rooms, stages, and sacred moments with you.”
“But,” he said, “seasons change. And right now, God is inviting me to slow down, to pour more into my family, my marriage, my calling as a mentor and leader. That means stepping away from long stretches on the road.”
Lecrae clarified, “This isn’t retirement. My voice and my heart are still very much alive. I just won’t be gone for weeks and months at a time anymore. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives. You’ve shaped me more than you know.”

The multiplatinum artist also shared a three-minute video reminiscing about his 20 years of touring. “[This] won’t be my last show. [I’ll] probably do shows and festivals events, but as far as getting on the road for months at a time, living on a tour bus, this is it,” he said. “It’s not bittersweet. It’s just sweet.”
“I’m not disappearing. I’ll still make music,” he continued. “But I think being on the road like this—it’s a lot.”
“Twenty years, I’ve been sleeping in a coffin for months at a time, on a bus, jumping up and down on my knees,” he said, “missing games, having to deal with parenting on the phone and FaceTime, and having these incredible experiences that I don’t get to share with my family.”
“Interacting with the people has been phenomenal…it’s mind-blowing,” Lecrae added. “I remember going on what was supposed to be a tour. We just kind of jumped in our cars and drove around Texas, and we were passing out flyers on the street telling people to come inside so they could hear a concert.”

It was a disaster,” he recounted. “We did a show in an empty pool at an apartment complex. So I never take it for granted.”
