LIFE Outreach International founder and president James Robison has died at the age of 82.
According to its mission statement, LIFE Outreach International uses broadcast media to fulfill its mission.
“LIFE Outreach International is a Christian organization dedicated to sharing the transforming truth of God’s love in word and deed,” the mission statement reads. “The ministry encourages the support of missions and relief programs in areas of need throughout the world. Utilizing the tremendous potential of broadcast media to fulfill the mission, LIFE Outreach inspires believers to share the promise of life and hope with others.”
The LIFE Outreach International board of directors and ministry family released a statement following Robison’s death.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Rev. James Robison, the beloved founder of Life Outreach International,” the board said. “James devoted his life to sharing the Gospel and bringing hope, help, and healing to those in need around the world. Together, James and Betty stewarded a ministry that has touched countless lives and will continue impacting generations to come.”
The ministry said it is grieving but celebrating Robison’s life of faithful service to God and vowed to carry on his work.
“Though we grieve this tremendous loss, we also celebrate a life faithfully lived in service to God and others,” the statement said. “In the months and years ahead, we will faithfully carry on the mission James cared about so deeply—bringing food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, and mostly, the hope of Christ to a hurting world.”
“The mission James gave his life to will continue with the same heart, compassion, and commitment that partners like you have faithfully helped make possible,” the statement continued.
“In the coming days, we will share additional updates as we move forward together,” the board added. “For now, we ask you to join us in praying for Betty, the Robison family, and the entire Life Outreach ministry family around the world.”
The board concluded its statement with Matthew 25:21: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
