Next read aloud Romans 10:9 from a kid-friendly Bible.
Say: Through Jesus, all people can become part of God’s family. It doesn’t matter what your first name is or what your last name is. When you believe in Jesus Christ and trust him to forgive your sin, you get Jesus’ name: Christian!
Let’s create some actions to do as we say Romans 10:9 all together. Rather than me telling you what to do, you kids can create the actions for us. Now you’re in charge!
Invite kids to work together to make up actions for these words:
- openly declare
- Jesus is Lord
- believe in your heart
- raised from the dead
- you will be saved
Say Romans 10:9 together with actions:
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
Say: Jesus saves us. No matter what you do, friends, you are worth saving. Jesus loves you and forgives you.
End by affirming kids by name. Say: [Child’s name], Jesus loves and saves you.
