Robinson appeared in front of Judge Tony Graf by video feed wearing a self-harm prevention vest. He did not enter a plea and remains in jail without bail. Robinson’s next court date is set for Sept. 29.
Prosecutors told the court that they will seek the death penalty for Robinson.
Judge Graf granted Kirk’s widow, Erika, a pretrial protective order.
