Utah Rep. on Charlie Kirk’s Killing: ‘I Will Never Unsee That’
Another speaker Tuesday, former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz, was present at Utah Valley University Sept. 10 when Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. “Nobody should have to witness and go through what I went through, what my family and those 3,000 people went through,” he said. “I will never unsee that. I will always feel it.”

Chaffetz urged Kirk’s supporters to channel their anger into action. Before the event, he told a reporter that increased violence in America creates “raw” emotions. “But particularly for a younger generation,” he said, “they need to know they have a voice and they shouldn’t cower.”
Susan Goldberry, 75, said she didn’t know much about Kirk before he was murdered but loves everything he stood for. At Tuesday’s event, she said of Kirk, “I think he could have done so much more, but I hope, I hope people keep his message going.”
