Winger said it’s okay to mock and scoff at people who are wrong. “God actually mocks people,” he said. “We should mock things that are mockworthy…This guy’s mockworthy. He is an actual dumb fake prophet.”

Mhlakela’s attempt at damage control—trying to point to Jesus and the gospel—is “out of the playbook of Benny Hinn,” said Winger. “These are bad motives that he’s got, and it’s manipulation that he’s trying to do through it.”

Winger wants people to remember Mhlakela’s name so the man can’t keep getting away with spiritual deception. He added:

If I was in the room with [Mhlakela], I’m not a violent person, but I would be tempted to punch him in the face. It would absolutely be tempting. The condescending, deceptive, bald-faced lie in the name of Jesus, misleading people starting up all over again. Another false, lying rapture thing that’s just going to turn into another…round of mockery online against Christianity. And a bunch of Christians splitting between those who see the truth and go, “Guys, we got to call this out” and those who are like, “Why are you so mean? I’m growing in Christ because of this,” and then them being deceived.

False teachers try to “trade out your faith in Jesus for your faith in them,” said Winger. “They draw disciples away after themselves. This is what Joshua is doing…He’s just using Jesus’ name when he does it.”

Winger ended his video by praying that people will base their faith on God’s true words, not on “distortions and lies from Satan disguising himself as an angel of light.” He asked God to make the church wise “because there’s going to be so many more false prophecies in the next few years, as we approach the 2,000-year anniversary of everything in the New Testament.”
