“I had six songs that kind of came from me, and every one of them has something to do with giving, you know, connecting with God,” Lowery shared. “The struggle within, the brokenness of all of us, and just recognizing that there’s hope. It was very hopeful.”

“The music is heavy, [but] it’s probably our most melodic record in a while,” Lowery said. “It was fulfilling. And not only that, the energy in the room, the relationships within the band are so good. I feel like God has worked [on me] because I used to join in the gossip. I used to add into the negatives. I used to do all those things.”
Lowery shared, “I just changed a few things. You don’t realize how much of a bad ingredient you are to the soup until you change what you’re adding to it—and I was adding.”
Lowery would just be “a little quieter during the negative things and then more encouraging [with] people. God gave me these connections with people that I wouldn’t have found without the suffering that I had gone through that got me to him.”
Sevendust’s new record is getting mixed now, and while there hasn’t been a specific release date announced yet, Lowery foresees a new single dropping the first of the year with a full album being released during the summer.
As for the title, Lowery didn’t say what it was, but he did hint it “definitely points toward God.” He said, “I mean, it’ll be open for interpretation, but I know for me that’s what [means].”
