“In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed,” Minaj said. “Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray.”

“Sadly, this problem is not only a growing problem in Nigeria but also in so many other countries across the world and it demands urgent action,” she added.

“I want to be clear,” said Minaj. “Protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or dividing people. It is about uniting humanity.”

U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) posted on X, “At the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sokoto State.”

According to its website, USAFRICOM works “with Partners and Allies” to counter “malign actors and transnational threats, responds to crises, strengthens African security forces, and supports U.S. Government efforts in Africa to advance U.S. national interests and promote regional security, stability, and prosperity.”

Specific details related to the Christmas night airstrikes in Nigeria have not yet been released.
