President’s New Year’s Resolution: ‘World Peace’

While entering the New Year’s Eve gala with First Lady Melania Trump, the president was asked about his resolutions for 2026. “World peace,” Donald Trump answered, before ignoring questions about U.S. airstrikes on Venezuela ships and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

During a speech at the party, Trump praised his administration. “We’re doing great as a country,” he told attendees. “We’re back. We’re strong. I didn’t think it could happen this fast. It’s happening faster than anybody thought possible.”

Before the gala, Trump was active on social media, criticizing his political opponents and Democratic-led states. He wrote about the “giant scam” involving Somali daycares in Minnesota, adding, “Other than that, we’re going to have a great new year.”

The president also praised his tariff policies and Border Patrol agents, noting that “more than half are of Hispanic heritage.” Trump announced the removal of National Guard troops from Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland, but he pledged to “come back, perhaps in a much different and stronger form, when crime begins to soar again.”

Attendees at Trump’s New Year’s Eve party included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, and rapper Vanilla Ice.
