“And that is certainly what our family has been doing over these weeks, and it’s certainly what we are needing to do here today,” he added. “We worship our way through it. Because he, Jesus, our king, truly is worthy of it all.”
“In Acts 15, we see the Apostle Paul and Barnabas, two men of God who go their separate ways, both desiring to love and follow King Jesus, both committed to the mission he has called them to, both loving and desiring to lead the church to serve him faithfully,” said Wright. “That is the moment where we find ourselves here today.”
Wright reiterated that he had not been disqualified from his life purpose, before adding, “Shades Mountain, I want you to know that we love you so deeply. We love this church. We love this community. We love this city.”
“And we have been blown away seeing the way God has been moving over these last five years,” he said. Wright said that the decision to leave Shades Mountain Baptist Church was “heartbreaking” and “very painful.”
But, he said, “I can’t be a ‘sovereignty of God‘ guy and complain when things don’t go according to my plan.”
“God is sovereign and reigning over all,” said Wright. “He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. And even when things don’t go according to our plan, he still has a good plan. He still has a perfect plan. His ways are higher. His ways are greater.”
“He sees what we can’t see, and he knows what we don’t know,” said Wright. “And his plan will not be thwarted by anyone.”
