“This judicial process and decision is historic in terms of freedom of speech and religion,” said Räsänen in her Facebook post. She described the difficulties of her journey, while expressing gratitude for opportunities God has given her to share her faith. “This process has been long,” she said. “It has lasted almost three years and has taxed both my own time and the resources of the police, prosecutor and the judiciary. On the other hand, I’ve been delighted with the opportunity to present the message of the gospel about the reconciliation of Jesus, which brings the solution to the focus of the word ‘sin.’” 

Regarding the possibility that the prosecution will appeal, Räsänen said, “I’m ready to defend freedom of speech and religion in all necessary legal levels, if necessary even in the European Court of Human Rights. At the same time, I encourage others to use these basic rights.”
