A number of people responded with criticism to the video, with some pointing out that within the span of less than a minute, Crist called for decency and unity and then almost immediately compared his running opponent and current governor to Satan.
“You called him DeSatan and then yourself Christ,” one commenter said. “That’s not divisive?”
Notably, President Joe Biden has recently come under similar criticism following his “The Battle for the Soul of America” speech on September 1.

While President Biden campaigned with promises of unity, many conservatives felt that he undercut his own message when he said, “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”
