The church remains “committed to maintaining a high standard regarding abuse prevention and reporting” and “will continue to place the protection of the vulnerable at the center of everything that we do.” The Salvation Army notes that its work “to serve people in need continues under new leadership in the communities of Fountain, Colorado, and in Chandler, Arizona.”
After encouraging anyone with information to contact authorities, the church states: “The Salvation Army stands against abuse and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as the investigation [of Williams] continues.”
According to social media posts, Williams has been married for almost 20 years and is the father of three children. His wife also serves in the Salvation Army. Church Leaders has reached out to the couple for comment and will update this article with any reply.
