Mark Wahlberg Encourages Fans To ‘Stay the Course’ With Lent as He Turns Down Margaritas at SAG Awards

In addition to his partnership with the Hallow app, Wahlberg has also expressed his desire to create more films that will encourage others toward faith. He has even invested much of his own money into faith-based projects he believes are important through Municipal Pictures, his production company.

One example is the 2022 film “Father Stu,” a biopic centered on the life of foul-mouthed boxer turned Catholic priest Stuart Long. Serving as both a producer and the lead actor for the film, Wahlberg portrayed Long in the various stages of his journey, which tragically ended with his death in 2014 at the hands of a rare muscular disease.

“This is a wonderful movie that reaffirms my faith,” Wahlberg has said of the film.
