Rick Warren’s Health ‘Is Not Good Right Now,’ but He Is Trusting God While Pursuing ‘Giant’ Ministry Goals

“The Bible says you’ll have all kinds of trials,” said the pastor. “Don’t be surprised at this. This is no accident. It moves to prove your faith.” We can take comfort from the fact that “God loves to turn crucifixions into resurrections.” 

“While you’re working on the dream, God is working on you,” he continued. “God is more interested actually in what you’re becoming than he is in what you’re doing.”

When pursuing our dreams under God’s authority, patience is key. “God’s will is like a scroll,” said Warren. “He unrolls a little bit [at a time]…You’re not going to ever see a map of your whole life.”

He added, “I’ve discovered that timing is everything. It really, really is everything. And God can do more in three months in his timing than I can do in 10 years of my planning.”
