Neal McDonough’s Road to Faith and the Big Screen
McDonough grew up in a Catholic home in Massachusetts. He and his father were close and would attend mass together. McDonough’s faith continued to grow through his high school years.
He and South African model Ruvé McDonough have been married for 20 years. Together, they have three daughters and two sons. The family is intentional about making God a part of their lives.
McDonough says his career began back in elementary school when he played the Cowardly Lion in “The Wizard of Oz.” The multifaceted actor went on to play Daddy Warbucks in the stage production of “Annie” in Vancouver. He’s known for his roles in “Yellowstone,” “Band of Brothers,” “Justified” and “Project Blue Book.”
Living out his faith is important to McDonough. He told Fox News Digital that he “refuses to take parts where he would be required to take God’s name in vain.”
The McDonoughs have started the McDonough Company, a film company that allows them to “create movies that reflect their faith and their values. McDonough said that he and Ruvé are “so blessed to have companies that support us and back us and want to make more films and TV shows, or reality shows, or any kind of show that gives glory to Him.”
“Not just to make a movie, but to do a movie that actually gives Him glory—that’s our goal,” they added. “And that’s what we’re after, and we’re very fortunate to be able to do it.”
