The roof of a historic church building in downtown New London, Connecticut, collapsed on Thursday afternoon (Jan. 25). The building, which was constructed in the 1850s, is shared by Engaging Heaven Church New London (EHC) and First Congregational Church.
“We know many are now aware there’s been a collapse at the Church,” EHC announced on Facebook. “At this time no one is hurt and everyone is accounted for. We will update everyone as soon as possible. Thank you for your prayers at this time.”
Surveillance video shows the exact moment the church’s steeple collapsed, leaving a pile of rubble in between the remaining walls of the building.
EHC pastor Bob Levesque shared that “New London’s BEST are evaluating the situation.” Levesque then revealed that one person was in the building at the time of the collapse but was unharmed. “Teresa is ok! No one else was inside that we are aware of,” he said. “We don’t believe there was anyone outside.”

“We will give updates as we receive them,” he added. “God is aware of the situation.
He is not shaken and either are we!As emergency crews assessed the damage, EHC reported, “The building is destroyed. The Church is thriving and strong. We trust in an unshakable God! We appreciate the love, prayers and support from around the country! ”
EHC has four locations throughout the U.S.: two in Connecticut, one in Madeira Beach, Florida, and the other in Missoula, Montana.
The pastor of EHC’s New London location, Bob Nicolls, posted, “I don’t know where we will be on Sunday. We are working on it. I’ll tell you this…We are going to worship God like we never have before! ”
Nicolls proclaimed that God is “on the throne” and that he “has a plan.” The pastor then told EHC church members that they are about to witness God’s “miracles performed right before our eyes!”

GET READY! WAKE UP!
