An American flag emoji was added to the end of the last line of the Scripture passage.

“I’m praying this over you daily,” Trump continued to quote from his ally’s message. “So many praying for you. Thank you again for taking the arrows intended for us. We love you 🇺🇸🤍🇺🇸.”

Notably, this is not the first time that Trump has been portrayed among his supporters as a type of messiah figure. In January, a video titled “God Made Trump” began circulating on social media.

The video begins with images of the planet Earth and a childhood photo of Trump. “And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, ‘I need a caretaker,’” a voiceover says. “So God gave us Trump.”

A number of evangelical leaders characterized the video as blasphemous.

On Tuesday, Trump posted a video of himself to Truth Social in which he promoted the “God Bless the U.S.A.” Bible—a leather bound copy of the King James Version that includes a handwritten chorus to “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again,” the caption of the post read. In the video, Trump said that he is fighting “every single day, very hard” to protect the Constitution.

Speaking of the “God Bless the U.S.A.” Bible, Trump said, “You have to have it for your heart, for your soul. Many of you have never read them and don’t know the liberties and rights you have as Americans and how you are being threatened to lose those rights.”

“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country, and I truly believe that we need to bring them back and we have to bring them back fast,” Trump went on to say, adding that he has “many” Bibles in his home and that the Bible is his “favorite book.”

“We love God, and we have to protect anything that is pro-God,” Trump said. “We must defend God in the public square and not allow the media or the left wing groups to silence, censor, or to discriminate against us.”
