Cathy went on to read the next verse, which says, “For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.”

While the exact phrase “ungodly man” is not in the original Hebrew text, the psalm warns against chasing wealth. The Amplified translation adds the “ungodly” to bring clarity to the psalm’s meaning. Verse 20 says, “People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.”

“Oh yeah, I understand that,” Duplantis said. “See, God don’t care if someone’s ungodly to be rich—or godly to be rich. It doesn’t make any difference whatsoever at all. You see what I’m saying?”

“So he talks about the ungodly there—and the godly,” he reiterated. “It doesn’t make any difference to God. Because, see, you don’t take anything with you when you die. The only thing you actually take to heaven with you is what you give away, which is your heart.”

“The Lord says, ‘I want to bless you for what you did,’” Duplantis said. Apparently finding his footing again, Duplantis added, “Not only will he bless us in heaven, but he blesses us on the earth.”

At the end of the broadcast, Duplantis encouraged viewers to donate to his ministry, noting that the studio in which “Boardroom Chat” is filmed cost over a million dollars to construct and furnish.
