Anna Duggar Lambasted for Post on Trump Verdict

In May 2022, prior to Josh’s sentencing, King wrote an open letter to Anna, telling her, “If no one else in your life is saying it, I need you to understand that there is no shame in divorcing Josh.” King added, “The only people you would upset by leaving are the ones willing to sacrifice you and your children’s safety to protect Josh and his secrets.”

The comments in response to Anna’s post on X Thursday were scathing. “The [Trump] case was in your wheelhouse, eh?” one person said.

“I guess you’re an expert on married men paying hush money to porn stars,” said another.

In a 2015 “Entertainment Tonight” clip of “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” (a “19 Kids & Counting” spinoff that aired from 2015 to 2020), Anna described the heartbreak she felt as a result of Josh cheating on her.

Anna said that she knew she had to rely on her faith, or else her feelings would lead her to “turn a mess into a disaster.” She also said she planned to stay with her husband. 

“I pray that through all this,” said Anna, “I would be an extension of God’s love to Joshua and that I would love him and forgive him. And my prayer and my heart’s desire is for our marriage to be restored.”
