Addressing topics such as politics, abortion, and the Jezebel Spirit, Pastor Mark Driscoll is not afraid to speak his mind. The controversial senior pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, “humbly” asked for Jesus to return before Nov. 5.
Mark Driscoll Makes a Public Plea for Jesus to Return—Before Nov. 5
Hours after former President Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony charges of falsifying business records, Driscoll posted a plea for the second coming of Christ.
“Lord Jesus we would humbly request that you return before November 5,” he said.
Much like the political realm, the reactions and responses to Driscoll’s words were varied and polarized.
One commenter thought about many of her family members who do not yet know Jesus. “My family is not saved yet,” she wrote in protest. “Please Lord return when many people like my family know you.”
“Why exactly?” another commenter asked. “That seems too USA-centric. Christ may have larger plans for world history, even after the West will have collapsed. Give other continents a chance…Let’s just pray for God to intervene.”
Others reminded Driscoll of his own opinions of how the end times will play out. “But Mark, it won’t work that way,” one person explained. “That whole 7 years of tribulation. Any of this ringing a bell?”
Many responses offered support and encouragement to the pastor regarding his plea for Christ’s return. One said, “Amen. The Spirit of the Age is having its way with this country, and it’s getting worse by the day.” Another added, “Humbly yet desperately!!”
Answering the question, “Will Trump save America?,” Driscoll went on to outline the difference between government problems and what only God can fix.
“Government can’t fix spiritual problems,” said Driscoll. “It can deal with the implications and complications, but ultimately, it takes people turning from sin and trusting in God to fix the root problem. Because it’s ultimately a God problem, and it can’t be fixed by a government.”
Political tensions continue to rise as the 2024 presidential election nears. “Looking toward what’s coming with the election, and you’re like, ‘Can it get any worse?’ Let me discourage you. It can. It can always get worse,” said Driscoll.
“If people don’t repent and trust in God, it only gets worse and worse,” he concluded.

Thousands of people liked the post, including some who agreed with Driscoll. “The government cannot save America spiritually (that goes for any politician whether it’s Biden, RFK or Trump) only praying Christians and Christians who are living according to God’s Word and spreading the gospel,” one comment read.
Another argued, “Trump has said repeatedly and I quote, ‘I am not the Savior, JESUS is!’ The Christians including myself who still support him politically do not look to him to save us spiritually. We understand he is a government leader, not our pastor or spiritual adviser. I wish people like you understood that as well.”
