Lecrae Calls Montell Jordan ‘A Different Level of Humble’
Amid incredible success in the music industry, Jordan is a “certified superstar,” said Lecrae. Jordan honestly admits that there are times he doesn’t want to be humble, and maybe that’s just part of what makes him humble: transparency.
In nearly 20 years of writing, recording, and producing music, Jordan released seven albums and was nominated for a Grammy Award. He’s possibly most well-known for one of the “biggest songs in the history of music.” The 1995 debut single, “This Is How We Do It,” depicts life growing up in Los Angeles.
Jordan then took a break from music. “I had to learn who I was outside of music to determine that I make music and music doesn’t make me,” the artist told Special Olympics. Jordan searched for more significance and reconnected with his childhood faith. On his own growing journey, Jordan is a pastor, mentor, and leader within the Christian community. And he’s back to recording music—with a newfound purpose.
Jordan is a Champion Ambassador for the Special Olympics where “faith, family and music may intersect to not only support children with special needs, but their families as well,” he has said. Jordan and his wife also support SONA and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
