“Tragically, much of our current folly is effeminacy in the name of Christ,” Wilson said, characterizing popular theological models of masculinity as “a discipleship program for weenies.”
Wilson argued that until churches recognize men as “the heads of covenant households in their official representative capacity…all attempts at cultural reform are sweeping water uphill.”
In an email to ChurchLeaders, Wilson clarified that his issue “is not men voting or women voting, in my mind, but the fact that households no longer have a voice.”

“I believe that they should have a voice, whether that voice is masculine or not,” he said. “Most of the time, the head of the household will be the man, but women can be heads of households also.”
