Later, she posted, “Trump’s policy: ok with killing most babies. Biden’s policy: ok with killing all. Not a very great contrast.”

Another takeaway from the debate was Biden’s apparently diminished mental acuity. His performance during the debate seemed to concern many within his own base. A number of left-leaning political pundits even suggested that Biden should step aside and let another Democrat take his place.
“I just want to speak from my heart,” said CNN host Van Jones. Referring to Biden, Jones continued, “I love that guy. That’s a good man. He loves his country. He’s doing the best that he can.”
“But he had a test to meet tonight to restore [the] confidence of the country and of the base, and he failed to do that,” Jones said. “And I think there’s a lot of people who are going to want to see him consider taking a different course now. We’re still far from our convention, and there is time for this party to figure out a different way forward, if he will allow us to do that.”
Clips and images of moments during the debate in which Biden slurred his words, lost his place, or appeared confused have already begun to circulate widely on social media, with many expressing concern for the president and his ability to lead and many more making jokes and memes.
Dr. Bart Barber, who recently completed his term as president of the Southern Baptist Convention, briefly returned from a social media hiatus to encourage Christians not to make jokes at either candidate’s expense.
“Popping my head up for a moment to offer this reminder (not intended as scolding),” Barber wrote. “We can have—must have—serious conversations about what the country saw last night in the debate, but…Please don’t send me jokes at the expense of President Biden (or, for that matter, of President Trump).”

“I have a biblical obligation to honor our civic leaders. This does not prevent having serious discussions about competency in an election. It does preclude lampooning either of these men,” Barber added. “Honestly, I’m just not inclined to make fun of cognitive decline to score political points. Spend a decade watching someone you love and admire be taken by dementia. It ain’t funny.”
