“Politics are secondary to our relationship with God. No matter what your political beliefs are, as Christians we are called to pray in situations like this,” Wilson’s pastor said during his sermon.
Prayer isn’t just a “suggestion” or the “right thing to do,” Wilson said. “But rather [it] is it expected by God” that we do so.
“So, let’s be the people of God on the frontlines praying,” she added. “I’m encouraging all of you who read this, no matter what side of politics you’re on, to stop what you’re doing and pray. Pray for our current president Biden. Pray for Donald Trump.”
As she continued her plea for prayer, Wilson asked that Christians also “pray for our country,” specifically praying that “God would heal our land.”
Likewise, pray for “those who dislike or disagree with Donald Trump” that they would forego the “hate” they may have for him because of his political stances and “remember that he is a human being, a father, a husband, and a child of God.”
“No one should ever be put in the situation he was in,” Wilson stated.
The “My Jesus” singer also encouraged prayer for the family of Corey Comperatore, who was the 50-year-old firefighter that was hit in the head by one of the assassin’s bullets and died while shielding his family from danger.
“He was an incredible example of a strong, courageous and selfless man,” Wilson said. “Let’s pray the peace of Jesus would surround his family and bring them immeasurable comfort. Let’s pray for supernatural healing all of those who were injured and who are still fighting to recover.”
Wilson concluded her rare political post with the words, “May God forgive us and heal our Land.”
