When asked about safety concerns, Kovach said the church relies on God’s protection as well as “plenty of security.” He said, “We have cameras, we have other things, we have an alarm system. So we’re pretty well protected.”

Confirming that the FBI had been in touch with him about Wallace’s arrest, Kovach said, “There’s a distinct possibility or probability that this is a hate crime.”
