Quaid said that Reagan still had much to do at the time of his near death experience, “and he got a lot done after that.”
“Reagan” was not originally scheduled to be released the same year as a presidential election. However, because of the pandemic and the writers strike, the film’s release kept getting pushed back.
Quaid said that the timing of the film’s release must be a “God thing,” because when he first started working on the film, he “really insisted…that it not come out in an election year, because I didn’t want it to be construed politically or anything like that.”
