“Of course, [Jesus] wants everyone’s heart,” Jenkins observed. “He wants salvation, but the crucifixion hasn’t even happened yet…the true act of salvation has not actually occurred just yet.”
“We’re referring to the fact that Judas absolutely was a follower of Jesus, and absolutely, most assuredly, believed in him,” said Jenkins. “He had authority to cast out demons and preach in his name.”
Jenkins reiterated the helpfulness of such discussions, so long as people are having them with respect and out of a desire to arrive at understanding.
Even as he celebrated that Season 5 is fully funded, Jenkins asked fans of “The Chosen” to continue giving to support it. Earlier this year, when Season 4 was delayed in coming to streaming, Jenkins shared in some detail about how the show, which is available for free and committed to remain that way, is financed.
While the show’s expenses are lower than those of many other shows, creating “The Chosen” is still “very, very expensive,” he said. The production and marketing costs amount to “tens of millions of dollars, minimum, every year.”
Those who wish to help fund and translate “The Chosen” may do so by giving to The Come and See Foundation.
“Thank you again,” Jenkins concluded his email. “We couldn’t do this without you. Let’s continue to watch God move: one translation, one season, and one story at a time.”
