Schnacky said she grew up with her family being very focused on how they look and her parents repeatedly “going on crash diets.” She thought that was normal, “so I was always extremely insecure about the way that I look.” As a teen, Schnacky was “so thin, and it makes me so sad because I genuinely thought I was so overweight.”
“We have so much power in our minds. We don’t really understand,” said Schnacky. She pointed out that some might have physical restrictions, and the priority for people should be to take care of what God has given them.
A pivotal moment in Schnacky’s life was when she dealt with significant illness in 2022 and was so sick that she thought she was going to die. All she wanted at that time was to be healthy, and she regretted that she had treated her body so badly in the past. She told God that if he healed her, “I will never treat my body like that again. And he did, by the grace of God.”
Now, going to the gym is “a place of worship for me, where before it might have been a punishment,” Schnacky said.
Bure shared with Natasha and Schnacky that a lot of people on social media ask her for her eating plan. “And I won’t tell anyone my eating plan,” Bure said. “It’s not because there’s anything I’m hiding. But I’m still trying to figure my eating rhythms as I age, because it does change as you get older.”
How Bure ate in the past worked for her, but those methods are no longer effective. “Why is eating so hard? Why is it so hard?” she asked. “When did food have to consume my life? And I think that’s what bothers me so much.”
Bure has never been a “free eater,” she said, meaning that she has always been aware of how what she eats might impact her body. “I do think about it all the time,” she said. However, exercise has really helped Bure by improving her mental state and enabling her to feel better in her body overall.
God Sends Candace Cameron Bure a Dream
When Candace Cameron Bure had her odd dream, she “was working through some really deep issues in therapy.” The background to her dream was certain events described in Numbers 22, specifically when a Moabite king wanted a man named Balaam to curse the Israelites. As Balaam is traveling on his donkey with the Moabites, the angel of the Lord blocks his way.
Balaam cannot see the angel of the Lord, but his donkey can, and it turns aside to avoid the angel. Balaam becomes angry and beats his donkey. This happens twice more: The donkey avoids the angel to save Balaam’s life, and Balaam becomes angry and beats the donkey.
