Public voting will determine which 20 “American Idol” contestants make it to the next round of Season 23.

For his audition, Hill blew away the judges with his performance of “I Need Your Glory” by Earnest Pugh. That earned him a platinum ticket, letting him bypass the show’s first round in Hollywood.

On the April 6 episode, Hill next sang Marvin Sapp’s “Never Would Have Made It.” Afterward, Bryan called the teen “one of the best singers that I have ever seen.”
